The Washington University Journal of Undergraduate Research

Join or Support

Join or collaborate with our dedicated team of more than 95 students.

Deadline: Students interested in becoming a Peer Reviewer, Staff Editor, or Illustrator may join by 2/6.

Become a Peer Reviewer

Peer Reviewers are members within our organization who play a critical role in reviewing submissions during our peer review process. Our Peer Reviewers allow us to maintain a high level of quality despite our broad reach in all disciplines. Any student with relative expertise within a research area can sign up to become a Peer Reviewer. Time commitment is small and reasonable, around 3-4 hours per manuscript, per semester.

Become a Staff Member

Staff Members (Handling Editors, Production Editors, and Illustrators) are active members of WUJUR committed to the semester-long publication cycle. They are essential to the journal’s publication, being the individuals who most directly oversee review and journal assembly.

Handling Editors drive the process of Peer Review by directly shuttling an assigned manuscript from provisional review to full acceptance. They synthesize comments and edits from themselves, as well as fellow Peer Reviewers, and supervise manuscript revisions. Production Editors oversee the essential copyediting and layout aspects of production by leading an assigned article through proofreading, grammar and style revision, and computer layout. Staff Illustrators create original artwork to accompany articles and panels in our Journal.

Support or Collaborate With Us

WUJUR is searching for WashU departments, other student organizations, and other groups with whom we can collaborate. If you are interested, please do not hesitate to reach out.

Collaborations with Student Groups
WUJUR is looking to collaborate with other student groups with whom we share an overlapping mission and interest. This includes a very wide range of organizations.

Collaborations with Departments and Other Groups
WUJUR is particularly interested in working with WashU Departments and other groups. We look to collaborate these groups in any of the applicable ways:

  1. Feature research work from your Department or Group
  2. Outreach and coordinated efforts to support student submissions from your Department or Group
  3. Engage in other programming with your Department or Group to help foster a stronger research community and encourage submissions
  4. (If financial support is offered) Provide subsidized/reduced cost print publications to students and faulty in your Department or Group

If you are a representative of a WashU Department or other group that is interested in supporting WUJUR financially, we would greatly appreciate your contribution. Financial support will allow us to increase the quality of our work and broaden our impact with your Department or group. We would be more than happy to meet and discuss how exactly a collaboration and this support might unfold.

Please contact us if you are interested in supporting or collaborating with our organization.

WUJUR operates thanks to the generous funding and support of WashU Student Union.
